We at the SOZO Center are delighted to serve those who come to our office for services. We are also thrilled to undertake one aspect of our mission that involves sharing information, observations, experiences, etc. regarding the ups and downs of life. One of our methods for doing so is the “Writings” section of our website. In this section, we will be posting articles we and others have written regarding family life, parenting, marriage, spiritual blessing and struggle, etc…..anything that seems germane to helping us all celebrate life.

When we say "sharing life", we really mean that. There is an old concept called "saving face", which is used to refer to the act of supposedly preserving one's dignity by being less revealing of oneself. While we do not advocate indiscriminately sharing about oneself, we definitely also believe in "spending face". As a result, we will be sharing freely from our own life experiences in this and other writings to come, and will invite others to do the same. Our hope is that we can encourage everyone who reads these writings to celebrate the fact that we are all imperfect human beings (and therefore are all in the same boat) and thereby learn more acceptance of oneself as well as others. An excellent example is the complete openness of children, especially the younger ones. We delight in the candid comments of young children.  It seems almost as if we learn to conceal ourselves more and more as the years go by. At any rate, expect open, often blunt, discussions of day-to-day life in these writings. We welcome all comments, questions and stories in reaction to anything that is written here. Nothing that appears in the “Writings” section of this website is intended to substitute for the type of counsel that is possible in a face-to-face encounter with a trained counselor, where counsel is tailored to the specific needs of the person seeking such counsel.
